Back again?

The past few weeks, I've been doing this half-heartedly. I'll be off for a couple of days, and then kinda try to get back on, but not really. I'll track for a day and then after dinner eat something that puts me over and then I just give up for another day. I'm about to graduate so I have a lot going on, but I've lost motivation for doing pretty much anything. I don't feel like doing my school work (even though it's really interesting), I don't feel like going to my internship (even though I really love that place), I'm not applying for jobs like I should because I'm trying to do the school work that I put off. In my head once classes end everything will be easier, but I know that things never work out like that. If I'm not doing this now, I won't be doing it then, something else will come up and I'll say "Oh, just after this other thing, then I'll go back to doing WW". Bull.

Anyways, I tracked for yesterday. Gonna track for today. After I check email I'll get started on my school work for the day. One step at a time, right?

Not for the Faint-hearted . . .

Yesterday was pretty good. It was a beautiful day here in Pittsburgh, and I swear I did try to get some work done, but if I chose to do that work outside, who can blame me?  At CMU every year we have this thing called Carnival where one of our parking lots becomes a fair, with rides and fair food and games, and all of the student orgs build these "booths" to walk through for little kids. I walked through that, it was fun! Did not have one piece of fair food because I accidentally-on-purpose "forgot" to bring any money :-)

That evening my roommate decided to fix some guacamole, which I decided would be my dinner. It was really more of a guacamole-salsa thing, but I didn't feel like entering the stuff into the recipe builder, so I just put guacamole. The veggie flaxseed chips were really good and low in points! I think she got them from Trader Joe's.

Then we went to the birthday party I told you guys about. I brought the girl scout cookies and they were a big hit, unfortunately with myself as well. Oh well. They are mostly gone now, and my roommate's bf is here for the weekend, I'm hoping he'll eat them all!

So anyways, here's the big story of the day: we watched Scream 4 for my friend's birthday. I don't normally watch movies like that, but it was her bday so I did. It was warm in the theater, and near the end of the movie I started getting really hot and felt like I was going to be sick. I got up to get out, and on my way down the stairs, I had to start holding on to the rail to brace myself upright. Then I got to the foot of the stairs and kinda fell/sat down on the bottom step. The next thing I know, I open my eyes and I'm sore right above my eye where my glasses hit me when I fell flat faced on the floor! I started feeling better within a couple minutes, and after that I was fine, but it was scary. Now I have a legitimate excuse not to watch those kinds of movies anymore!

Improvisation

Yesterday I overslept, so I didn't eat my healthy breakfast I was going to prepare or my healthy lunch. So, I improvised (as you can see below) from the options available to me at the campus cafes and convenience stores.

I was doing really great, but when I got home I still just wanted something to snack on. I thought I was doing good by making the Dill Dip with greek yogurt instead of sour cream, but I didn't realize that the one tablespoon of mayonnaise that I added was 3 points! Ah well, live and learn.

It's not going to be pretty tomorrow morning. I had planned on working out this week, but every time it comes up, I have other things that must get done that take precedence. I honestly don't know if I'm going to be able to work out at all over the next few weeks given my schedule.

Stupid Girl Scouts

I was doing great today until my girl scout cookie shipment came in. Then everything just went downhill.

I shouldn't have even opened the box. But . . . I'm not superhuman. I can't resist every temptation. I wanted to just try one of each kind, but it wasn't enough. Then when I got home after class I still wanted to munch on something. So I fixed the popcorn. The soda is just something I bought for other people that's been sitting in my fridge, and I don't want to waste it by throwing it out.

I wanted to get right back on track, but it didn't happen. I'm feeling pretty disappointed in myself right now. Like, no wonder I never lose any weight, I'm just not consistent enough. I'll do great for a few weeks and then I'm back where I started. Sometimes I wonder if I really have what it takes.

It's Been Awhile . . .

Well, so. Here I am.

Last week I was out of town, going to conferences and interviews. It was fun, but I didn't do Weightwatchers at all. I tried to make healthier choices, but I didn't count. I only exercised twice. I got on the scale when I got back home and I had gained back all the weight I've lost over the last three weeks plus a few tenths. Not fun.

Even the last couple days I've been home haven't been great. I should have started right back on as soon as I got back home, but I didn't.

I ran into my trainer, Karl, at school yesterday. He asked me how things went, and I told him. He said, "Well, the way I see it, it's Monday, and the time for being disappointed in yourself is over. You just gotta move forward."

So, I planned out what I'm eating for almost every meal until the end of the week. Partly for Weightwatchers, and partly to use up all the food I have in my house for budget reasons (and the fact that I may be moving in a month). I also planned when I was going to work out this week, but I already see my workout time today getting eaten up by a meeting and some homework I need to finish.

:-/ here goes. Hopefully my weigh-in this week won't be as bad as I think . . .
